Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary situated near Thiruvananthapuram towards Southern Kerala. It was established in the year1983.The Sanctuary boasts the tallest hill called Chemmunjimottai through which the Karamana river is originated. This sanctuary is named after the Peppara dam. The Peppara sanctuary is stretched to an area of 75 square kilometres which is covered with tropical moist evergreen forests and the Myristica swamps.

Along with diversified flora, the Peppara Wildlife sanctuary shows a wide range of faunal population, nearly 400 animal species including mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians and some few fishes. The atmosphere of the Peppara wildlife sanctuary is pleasant and one can feel the beauty of nature with the natural music of the natures life.
