Kali Puja occurs in the Lunar month of Ashwin, which is celebrated on Amavasya. The Kali puja basically occurs in the months of October and November. The Kali Puja occurs on the Diwali festival, the whole country while gearing up for Diwali celebrations, the eastern part of India is gearing up for the celebrations of both the festivals that are both Diwali and Kali Puja.

Kali Puja is celebrated widely across the states of West Bengal, Tripura and Assam. The festival is dedicated to goddess Kali. Like Durga Puja, the Kali Puja also conducted in the temple premises. The Kali Puja is performed during night times, devotees who fast during this festival open their fast after the Kali Puja.

On Kali Puja, the goddess is offered with red hibiscus flowers, sweets, fish..etc. On Kali Puja, Many pandals, shops, even a fair is conducted. A huge crowd soaked in devotion come to goddess Kali’s feet. At the end of Kali Puja devotees will receive Prashad which includes labra or luchi khichudi also mangsho or goat meat which is most famous among the Prashad in pandals during Kali Puja at the temple premises.
