Places To Visit In Itanagar:

1. Ita Fort:

Ita Fort was built in the 14th or 15th century. The name of the fort is named after the city name Itanagar. It is believed that 80 lakh bricks were used to build the structure of the fort. King of the Jitari dynasty built the fort in an irregular shape. The fort is enclosed by natural ridges and brick ramparts.

There are two brick walls and three gates, the brick ramparts can be seen in the western and eastern sides. There is more than half a kilometer long rampart in the eastern side with just one gate; while the western rampart is more than 1.40 km in length and has two gates. In the north and south of the fort, irregular steep ridges of more than a kilometer length can also be witnessed. The bricks of the fort are typical of the medieval and pre-Ahom period.

2. Jawaharlal Nehru Museum Itanagar:

The Jawaharlal Nehru Museum was established in the year 1980s by the government of Arunachal Pradesh and is one of the best places to visit in Itanagar. The museum is systematically divided into sections which each displays an extensive gamut of handicrafts, reminiscent and quite other archaeological findings. There is a handicrafts workshop at the museum premises where one can view the work going on. Art gallery and library are the part of the museum as well.

3. Gompa Itanagar:

Gompa is the center for Buddhist culture located on the top of the hill just above the Jawaharlal Nehru Museum. The temple is adorned with a beautiful gate at the base of the hill. The Gompa seemed to be separated from the rest of the town by the small hill even though it is near the main road.

The white stupa with golden carvings stood just outside the main Gompa and against the backdrop of green rolling hills.

4. Online Itanagar:

The place is called Indira Gandhi Park. Online is a green urban space and festival location in Itanagar. It is a very expensive city park with play equipment. One can enjoy the greenery of the park. People use this place for walking, jogging and organize community festivals.
