Tok means Temple. This is a Hindu Temple which is situated in the upper reaches of Gangtok. Lord Hanuman resides in the temple. Hanuman Tok Gangtok is the Temple where Hanuman resides.

When Hanuman was flying with Dronagiri Parvat (Mountain) which had the lifesaving Herb Sanjeevani to save Lord Rama brother Lakshmana he rested in the spot for some time where his temple now lies. The Tok is actually managed by The Indian Army.                                                                                 

This Tok is located at an altitude of 7200 Ft. There is a temple of Shri Shirdi Saibaba as well just right of Lord Hanuman Temple.
